Blessings to Share Deploys Floreo’s Innovative Virtual Reality Platform To Teach Social, Behavioral, Communications, and Life Skills

Partnership provides access to the world’s first behavioral therapy metaverse for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Blessings to Share (BTS), which serves transition-age adults with Neurodiversities – including Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – in their journey to self-actualization. Recently BTS has begun deploying Floreo to teach social, behavioral, communication and life skills. Floreo’s mission is to create the first behavioral therapy metaverse, a virtual world that is safe for learners, equipping them with skills and tools they can apply in their everyday lives.

Greg Arend, a retired Deloitte partner, co-founded BTS alongside his family based on his first-hand experience in seeing the benefits of utilizing innovative technology and its ability to positively change lives in the neurodiverse community. The organization’s use of Floreo is an integral component of its strategy.

“We are introducing Floreo into BTS’ approach to delivering services based on Floreo’s proven ability to harness technology in a way that is accessible to individuals with neurodiversities and help them translate their learnings from using it to practical applications in their daily lives,” said Mr. Arend. “Blessings to Share is proud of the role we play in the Tulsa community, and we will continue to identify and adopt cutting-edge technologies that can positively impact the individuals we serve,” added Mr. Arend.

A number of nonprofits and government programs exist to serve the special needs community, but gaps remain because of a lack of integration between these services. BTS addresses these issues through the use of C.A.R.E.S. (Care. Advocate. Resource. Empower. Support.) Programs. The C.A.R.E.S programs are professionally designed through close collaboration with Oral Roberts University and a professor emeritus from Missouri State University.

Floreo’s virtual reality platform, which is immersive and repeatable, provides practice in situations difficult to replicate in home or office settings. Learners are empowered by practicing l skills in a safe, engaging, and reinforcing manner.
